Schenck AccuRate PureFeed® AP-300 Pharmaceutical Feeder Chosen as a 2007 Breakthrough Product of the Year from Processing Magazine
Schenck AccuRate announces that Processing Magazine has chosen the PureFeed® AP-300 as a “Breakthrough Product for 2007.” The award is determined by the publication’s editors and is based on recognizing significant contributions to the process industries. Dennis Van Milligan, Editor-in-Chief commented, “The PureFeed® AP-300 truly is a breakthrough in pharmaceutical feeding. It was the only feeder selected for this prestigious honor, and we expect it to revolutionize the pharmaceutical industry for many years to come.”
Designed using input from an international group of pharmaceutical manufacturing and process people, the PureFeed® AP-300 is available in volumetric and gravimetric configurations for pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and even cosmetic applications involving feed rates from 500 grams / hour to approximately 150 Kg / hour. Jet milling, continuous blending, medical-grade plastics compounding, packaging, coating, and ingredient weighing are just a few examples of
applications the new PureFeed® AP-300 can satisfy. Like other Schenck AccuRate feeders, the PureFeed® AP-300 feeder features a flexible hopper and programmable external dual-arm agitation system for maximizing material handling versatility. However, for the first time, the PureFeed® AP-300 uses flexible FDA-accepted EPDM feed-hoppers that are “disposable” and “recyclable”. That means simpler, shorter cleaning cycles and virtually, no chance of cross contamination when moving from one material to another. 316L stainless steel is used for most of the feeder parts including the 4, 12, and 36-liter extension hoppers and covers. 32 microinch RA finishes are standard on all contact surfaces with lower RAs available upon request. Finally, the number of feeder pieces has been kept to a minimum and connections are made using sanitary Disposable and recyclable
quick-release clamps so disassembly, cleaning FDA-compliant feed hopper
and reassembly is quicker and easier than ever.
